Rescued by Love – Shilpa Suraj

Final TOur Banner

A waif of a girl with big, lost eyes and long tangled hair, who is hurt and has her hands bound. A creepy man watching, reaching out lecherous hands. Fear. Screams.Threats. The opening of Shilpa Suraj’s romance Rescued by Love is dramatic and intriguing. Is this a romance or a suspense thriller? Who is this girl and why has she been kidnapped? What is her destiny?

These questions are soon answered as the kidnapper, a terrorist leader, makes his appearance. He warns Naina that her fate will parallel that of a militant, who is shortly to be sentenced by her father, a Supreme Court Chief Justice. We are given hints of a domineering father who has little love for his daughter, a prig who is more concerned with his image than his daughter’s fate. He has arranged her marriage to a man cast in the same mould as himself, to pass off the burden that he thinks she is. Our heart lurches with anxiety as we feel the story moving inexorably towards a tragic end.

Then enters the tall, handsome, intrepid Lieutenant Colonel Arjun Rathore and we begin to breathe again. Arjun and his small team infiltrate the enemy camp to rescue Naina and escort her through hostile terrain towards safety. Arjun is Naina’s saviour, the first person in her life to show signs of caring and integrity, to bring her hope. She begins to dream of a future with him, though he stonewalls her, as he is only too aware that he is nobody compared to this girl from a powerful family. But proximity and the latent attraction between them lead to an emotional high. He pushes her away, suspecting that she is clinging to him out of gratitude and will realise this herself as soon as she returns to her normal surroundings. All too soon, they must separate, and any feelings they have must be forgotten.

Has Naina found true love or heartbreak? Fate throws several hurdles in their path and she must find a way to overcome them if she wishes to achieve her heart’s desire. But her reluctant lover ties himself in knots that seem impossible to unravel. Find out how it all ends by following the fast-paced twists and turns in the story as the two struggle towards each other. Discover how values and principles, self-respect and family pressures create a maelstrom that seems to spell disaster.

Now, what’s so attractive about Rescued by Love? Sensuous, smooth, sparkling prose and a plot that takes us hurtling from the heights of Ladakh to the beaches of Goa. Scintillating protagonists whose emotions whirl us along on a roller coaster ride. Colourful characters like the ‘fruity’, top-heavy Jahnvi and Naina’s fiancé ― the fat man with the straggly moustache. Arjun’s brother, the genial Aryan. Their amusing parents. And a story line that is crystal clear and takes you along on a scorching ride. Buy your copy now on Amazon. You will love it for sure.

Lovely Review Usha. I loved the book too. You mentioned Aryan. Rightfully so. I see a series here.. 😀 She is really developed this secondary character well. Aryan is given the glamour quotient too and it suited the the story to the T, didn’t it ? Loved your review.
